Frequently asked questions
Are You A Broker?
No. We work with brokers on occasion, but prefer to go direct to owners. Brokers typically work off retainers and their fees can be very expensive. This way they get paid whether they sell your business or not. Brokerages, on average, sell only about 20% of the businesses they take on! Ignore the (unverifiable) claims many make of 50%, 80% or even 100% success rates. Some of the biggest and best known brokers sell fewer than 5% of the businesses they take on!
How Does It Work?
We acquire businesses direct from owners who want to exit their business and we become the new owner.
I Received Your Email, Is It a Blanket Campaign?
You received our email because our deal flow research team has identified your business as a potential "business of interest" having met certain key selection criteria for us.
We do target multiple companies at a time but it's not a generic email to 1000's of people.
The next step is to organise an initial call so we introduce ourselves, explain the process and if it's of interest, sign an NDA and go from there.
How Do You Value My Business?
There are a number of factors that can affect the value of your business. Tangible assets such as your business premises, land, stock and equipment are easy to value.
We also value intangible assets such as your reputation, trademarks, the customers, the strength of your managment team, how established the business is and intellectual property.
Demand for your products or services will also impact the value. Similarly, your financial records, including your cash flow and level of debt.
Are The Discussions Private & Confidential?
Definitely! We respect that business discussions need to be treated as strictly private and confidential. We sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with you as part of our initial discussions.
Do You Buy Distressed Businesses?
We are not looking to buy distressed businesses at this time.
